Artist Statement:

Clay's plasticity and immediacy have kept me enthralled for almost six decades. I am not pursuing idealized form, but rather am interested in finding a sense of being inhabited and the energy which occurs between the sculpture and the viewer. Satisfying a thirst in the public eye for mass and form, clay also can provide rich texture unavailable in most public sculpture.

Artist Bio:

The large-scale outdoor work is a result of eighteen years as a professional scenic artist in NYC carving for Broadway Productions, film, and for twelve productions at the Metropolitan Opera House. This work experience grew my interest in the dynamics of the tableau vivant and its visceral effect on the viewer.
Each sculpture is unique, one-of-a-kind, hand-built, and fired clay. There are no multiples.
